McKesson sterile water for inhalation is prepared from water for injection that is sterilized and suitably packaged. Use sterile water for inhalation in inhalators and in the preparation of inhalation solutions. McKesson sterile water undergoes testing for conductivity, oxidizable substances, bacterial endotoxin testing, and sterility, Since it carries a less stringent specification for bacterial endotoxins than sterile water for injection, do not use it for parenteral applications. Water needs to be sterilized for inhalation purposes because water is a perfect medium in which undesirable organisms and bacteria can grow. The flow of oxygen/humidified water goes directly to the lungs; sterility is critical. Choose McKesson for inhalation therapy and humidification products.
